sonett - received new to me transmission

The Sonett needs lots of parts but hopefully now it needs one less. As soon as I bought the car I started searching the web for a transmission. It took a few months but one eventually popped up on ebay and I quickly bought it. It came out a 1972 Sonett of unknown miles. Apparently the donor car was in good working order when the car was parked for years before being parted out.

The transmission arrived in a cardboard box, wrapped in rope so it could be carried. The shipping weight was 81 pounds and there was no padding in the box so that is pretty much the weight of the tranny.

I tested spun the input shaft by hand and shifted gears to verify that all gears, including reverse, do indeed work as expected. Some parts are a little rusty but it appears to be in good working order.

Now I just need to pull the engine + tranny out so I can put this new one back in. God knows when I will get around to that.
